Becoming homeless can happen to anyone. But when it happens to Charlie, a Vietnam
Veteran that Patrick and Hailey meet, they decide to take matters into their
own hands and do something about it.
With the help of their church and community, they build the Veterans’
Clubhouse to help homeless vets get back on their feet.
What a terrific message author Kristen Zajac delivers to children
in showing them how they could get involved to help the homeless. I bet after reading the book, kids will come
up with their own creative ideas on how to help as well.
Jennifer Houdeshell’s illustrations leap off the page and
really add another dimension to this wonderful book.
This book would make a splendid addition to any home or
library. It shows a way to give back to
those who served this country and demonstrates how compassion plus action
achieves great things. Nicely done!
